Jean-Francois Dandrieu (1682 - 1738) was an influential French composer. A student of Moreau, he was a gifted and precocious child and gave his first public performances when he was 5 years old, playing the harpsichord for Louis XIV, King of France, and his court. In 1721, Dandrieu assumed the very important position of Royal chapel organist. Highly acclaimed as a harpsichord composer, Dandrieu composed a great number of works for the instrument including suites and trio sonatas.
